If you haven’t already heard there has a been a sea of recipes online with the healthy dairy-free, or no churn 2 ingredient ice-creams. I always wondered if this would taste any good and was impatient to try out. I tried a few combinations with different fruit and found this one to be my favorite. If you love figs like I do this one would surely satisfy your sugar cravings. And the best part, once you are done eating a scoop or two… Guess what? G.U.I.L.T- F.R.E.E .. I love that part where you can eat something and be happy it’s not doing any damage to your body.
The dairy-free, 2 ingredient trick!
I don’t know about you, but most of the time I end up feeling a little guilty after going through a nice bowl of rice and creamy ice cream. Nothing wrong with that, but I kind of have a sweet tooth you see 🙂 So I try my best to have a healthy low sugar dessert as much as I can. It’s not easy with cravings, especially when it’s been a long day and you just want to indulge in a treat and then you see guilt written all over it. I’m super glad that there’s a way to work around it!
A cheat trick! As I call it.
You cheat yourself but eating something you call “an ice cream” which actually really is a nice blend of fruits!
I know you like the sound of that! I do too! It’s the perfect way to banish those cravings and fuel your body with what it really needs.
The one I’ve created is using he only my favorite fruits. Bananas and figs. I know figs can be seasonal and not always available throughout the year, but when you do get hold of a few ripe ones this recipe is worth a try. But bananas are the ones that need to be used in combination with the fruit of your choice. This is what gives it a nice creamy consistency and keeps the dessert together.
Nothing fancy with the recipe. Just cut up your two fruits and freeze them. Once frozen blend and enjoy. I normally only freeze them for an hour before I want to make this dessert.
NOTE: Make sure your blender can handle the power needed to blend your frozen fruit. I used my nutribullet to blend this together.
Healthy dairy-free fig ice cream- 2 ingredients
- 1 ripe banana
- 2 figs
- 1/2tsp pure vanilla extract
I didn't blend my fig ice cream all the way, I like the small chunks of figs when I eat this ice-cream. But if you prefer a more smooth creamier consistency, blend all the way.
It only takes like 10-15 seconds to get well blended.
If you give this recipe a try let me know what you think of it in the comments section below 🙂
